Which Material Is Best for My Stickers?
Your stickers should not only look great but also feel right and fit their purpose. In addition to your chosen printed designs, selecting the right material plays a crucial role in the final result. White paper provides a clean, classic look, making it ideal for product labels or adress stickers. Recycled and kraft paper offer an eco-friendly option. If you’re labeling bottles, jars, or cans, textured cream paper adds an elegant touch. Transparent film stickers allow the background surface to be part of the design. For outdoor use, weatherproof stickers are the best choice.
Here is an overview of key properties fulfilled by various materials:
- Sustainability: choose materials like recycled paper, coffee cup paper, sugar cane paper (bagasse) or kraft paper.
- Residue-free removable: Select white paper, white film, transparent film - each with the "removable" option in the configurator.
- Heat-resistant: outdoor white film and white film
- Waterproof: applies to all films (white film, transparent film, outdoor white film).
- Deep-freeze resistant: All materials, but caution with paper as condensation can be an issue. Outdoor white film withstands extremely low temperatures.
Are My Custom Stickers Waterproof, Heat-Resistant, or Freezer-Safe?
All material properties are listed in detail in our sticker configurator. Be sure to select the right option for your needs. If your stickers will be exposed to high temperatures, freezing conditions, or moisture, choose materials that can withstand these environments.
Can I Print Stickers in a Custom Shape?
Yes! Our configurator allows you to select contour-cut stickers that follow the shape of your printed designs. If you want a completely unique outline, simply upload your custom shape file in the "Form" section. You’ll also find an upload button for logos or other design files under our motif suggestions.
How are stickers applied and removed?
To ensure long-lasting enjoyment of your stickers, you should follow these guidelines when applying them:
- The surface should be clean and free from dust and grease. Thoroughly clean the surface with alcohol, glass cleaner or an alcohol-based cleaning agent, and then dry it with a lint-free cloth. Test the surface for sensitivity before applying.
- Avoid heat and direct sunlight. For applications exposed to heat or cold, choose a suitable material for your stickers, such as freeze-safe film or outdoor film. Our material list provides information on heat and cold resistance.
- Determine the optimal position of your sticker before removing the backing.
- To avoid air bubbles, use a squeegee or spatula to remove air while applying the sticker. Tip: A sturdy bank or loyalty card works just as well. If air bubbles do form, you can carefully prick them with a thin needle and press out the air.
To remove stickers, consider the material and the surface they are adhered to. Various methods, such as soaking, heating, or scraping, can help, but they do not always work perfectly. The best solution is to select a removable material when ordering. This allows you to peel off your custom stickers easily in one piece without leaving residue.
