Our Cork Fabric

Without Quercus suber, the cork oak tree, we wouldn’t be able to produce these unique cork labels! It takes 25 years for a cork oak to be ready for its first harvest, and after that, the bark regenerates every nine years. This sustainable process makes cork one of the most environmentally friendly materials available. Our cork comes from Portuguese cork oak forests, which play a crucial role in CO2 absorption — storing 30 % more carbon than regular trees.

Our cork fabric consists of a thin natural cork layer bonded to a durable backing material. While some synthetic components are necessary for stability, we ensure that all materials used are non-toxic. The backing of your cork labels is made of PU (polyurethane), PES (polyethersulfone), and cotton, providing the right balance of flexibility and strength.

The back of your cork label has a brown tone that closely matches the natural cork surface. Each label is approximately 0.8 mm thick. While cork is naturally resistant to moisture and heat, we do not recommend washing cork labels. The shapes, holes, and cutouts are precisely laser-cut, while text and motifs are engraved. Light burn marks along the edges enhance the rustic charm of our engraved cork labels.

Individual Attachment

Cork labels can be sewn onto fabrics just like thicker materials such as leather or faux leather. They are easy to attach using a standard sewing machine.
